In my experience:

1) Bolting their food and water,

and 2) trying to expel hairballs.

Mine still often does it even though I have her on anti-hairball food and have been brushing her more.

Also, never let your cat swim until at least an hour after eating ;-)

the same reason you do, if you eat something weird and it irritates the stomach.

because they some times get hair balls from cleaning their fur or they eat stuff off the ground they find and then it makes them sick so they throw it up and cats get colds and stuff like that like we do too.
