why do my cats suddenly decide that they arent going to eat what they normally eat2007-11-25 12:31:20

I opened 5 different puches of food and they have screwed up their noses at them all

This is an odd thing about pouches; everyone I know who has cats has had this happen- the cats will happily eat the pouch varieties, then suddenly go off them. I think the makers just put in whatever they have most of, then the cats dont like the taste when it changes. I buy cheap tuna for mine now (tesco, 25p) and they love it (plus its handy to make your mother-in-law a sarnie when she calls unexpectedly to catch you having a lie in or not doing the dusting--

I had that problem last night. If it's the cat food beginning with W, I think they just changed the recipe.

I sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on and they will eat anything.

are they all a similar flavour? maybe beacuse they are bored of eating food that has the same taste everyday, and im sure u'd get bored of eating pizza or something every night. lol

try different brands and flavours

They will eat when they are hungry. Put food in dish and walk away from the whole situation.

cats like people get bored of the same things.try using mixtures of dry food and giving them cat milk if they still dont eat just to get something inside them.failing everything take them to the vets to make sure they are not ill x

Because they are cats. They have the right to remain ignorant and do not have to eat anything unless they feel the need to.

This happens. I have just switched my cat to the Kit-e-Kat fish pouches and she is like a savage!
