because they survive situation they should die - for example my cat was hit by a huge rat trap, his leg was broken, he lost weight (a wild living cat - he was not able to catch mices), and nearly died. But then it turned, and he got healthy. And no sign of the broken leg.

And it was not the only dangerous situation.

After "using" of his nine lives he was hit by a car..

My old girl (19yrs) has used up all her nine lives and is still going but like some of the others it is just an old wives tale

cuz if they fall they dont die cuz they land on there feet! and threre not easly killed, there so quick and lean (most of the time) that they can get away easy to! hope that answered it! :]

because cats are crazy! they are so CRAZY! they use up their free guys doing stuff like falling down holes and getting killed by bad guys. but they have nine, and i heard down at the park on 5th street you can get more free lives if you bump your head on the 2nd tree in the playground!
