why do people who sell kittens lie2007-11-25 12:31:50

i went to view a kitten and it was lovely.i asked all the right questions and got all the right answers. when i got home i couldnt get near it.it turned out to be ferral, so my vet agreed 2 rehome itas i had a baby.i went to view another 1 the following day and again i got all the right answers.the kitten looked really healthy but when i got to my vet 2 get her flead i was told that she had eye infection and worms so i got her treated.the vet also told me there was no way she was 6 weeks old in fact she was younger.she is getting on fine now but why do people have to lie?

I dont know but they do so with puppies as well. I guess they think that if they tell you there is something wrong with them you will not take them. Good luck and god bless you and your kitty.

i personally love animals but the people who you bought the cat from probably were tired of the kittens and wanted to get rid of them.

Because people are evil, and cruel to animals. They are probably irresponsible and its easier to lie to unsuspecting prospective suckers that take their unwanted kittens, than spend the money to get them fixed!

I understand what you're saying but I also understand why they wouldn't tell people. People probably wouldn't even consider looking at the cats if they knew they were feral and the people who sell them probably don't want to have to put them to sleep. They probably don't want the people to not consider the cat at first before looking at it because then it wouldn't get adopted and then they sometimes have to put them to sleep if someone doesn't adopt them in a certain amount of time.

They do that just to sell them, the papers are full of ads looking people to take kittens for free so I would never pay for a kitten.

because there not trained vets-- how do they know-- they are trying to unload them-- for odviouis reasons- thats why we say go threw the spca!!

because they are idiots. The best place you can go for a cat is a sanctuary, not to people who allow their cats to get pregnant by accident or on purpose for money.I got mine a few weeks ago from a sanctuary and he was 14 weeks, so he was at a lovely age, and we just gave a donation to help the place keep running.
