I agree with the others, the cat is hiding her kittens to keep them safe! Please spay her as soon as she is done nursing her kittens! Only 1 out of 5 kittens born find a home for life the other 80% usually end up in shelters and are put too sleep!

You have to watch this - she's feeling threatened. You have to make sure she's in a secluded place - in a box or basket she can get out of easily, but so the kittens are sheltered. Even put a light sheet overtop of it, and in an out-of-the way place where you are not touching the kittens every minute. Make sure you talk to the mom and praise her and pet her and love her, and she'll feel reassured that you won't hurt the kittens. I know this is frustrating - we've gone through it. The funniest place one mom moved a kitten was in one of my purses hanging from a chair in the kitchen - took us ages to find her.
I have always heard it is to ensure they are kept safe until they are able to care for themselves more and to keep other animals or people from bothering them. Mama cats are funny and will sometimes shun a kitten that has been touched by a human or if they have some other kind of unusual odor on them.
She feels threatened by something, and is trying to find a "safe" place for them to be. If you are looking at them daily, and picking them up, the next time she moves them, leave them alone, and she should leave them the next time.. (unless something else is threatening her.)
if the mama has too much going on around her, or she feels that her babies are threatened by too much human interaction she will keep tring to find a quite, secure and private place to nurse and raise her babies.

I know they are cute & cuddly, but you need to stop touching them so much. When Momma feels her babies are safe she will stop moving them.
Mother cats will instinctively hide their kittens to protect them from predators and adult male cats. They will move the kittens when they feel like their hiding place isn't safe anymore.
So predators cant find them, she would be on constant alert!! it would probably be a good idea to leave her alone and not handle the babies until she is more settled.
