why does my cat bite I spoil her with nythin and everything possable and more. she is only 5 monthes old and her teeth are getting pretty sharp.. please help ?

Stop spoiling her, it's why she bites. It's either that or you need to be more gentle with her. Or maybe she's just sensitive. Get a squirt bottle if biting persists, and when she bites you squirt her. She'll eventuall learn that biting is a no-no

If it is a bite that doesn't really break the skin and she does it when she is being loving, it is a 'love bite'.

She could be trying to assert her dominance over you.Cats will bite you for no reason,or sometimes after you play with them,because they are telling you they are in control.Don't let her do it.You've got to teach her that your the queen of the castle;keep a spray bottle filled with water on hand.Whenever she bites you,spray her.She'll get the idea.

well if she is only 5 months she maybe be still getting her teeth in. my white cats still likes to bite but he doesnt do it too hard. That is a way they show they love you. But if you are worried take it to the vet. They can tell if she having problems. but to me that just seems normal. Maybe you can get it some of the doggie chewed sticks that are in the pack our cat like them and it help him with his teeth problems.

my cat was the SAME way when she was a kitten. I would spoil her and she would just bite me in return. So..We asked the vet and they just said that it's normal for some kittens to be like that. she might just be teething. Just keep giving your kitty lots of love && care. She will most likely change as she ets older. i know my cat did!!

Are you playing with her with your hands? They will learn that your hands are toys if you don't teach them - especially since your fingers dangle around like toys. Always have a cat toy in your hand for her to go for instead of the hand. When she bites you say "no", tap her a little on the head, and put her down. Do not play with her for a few minutes. Cats are smart and they will learn soon.

Hoo come on , didn't you know that , thats the way they play , i had a lot of scratches in my arms while my cat was little , he loves to bite me all the time , but playing , give her a toy in order she can get busy and unleash that little beast she gets within , be patience .

My Ragamuffin bites and she is over a year old. It's her way of showing affection. She never breaks the skin. If she hurts me, then I scold her and she hates that. She is a sweet natured cat. Some cats do bite to be mean though. I would suggest that you keep using the squirt bottle and see if she catches on.

Sound cruel, but push your hand, finger, arm, whatever she has latched onto further into her mouth, will help her realize that this is NOT something she can bite. Still working on the love bites with my 4 yr old cat, started by pushing, and when that went down to nipping and "fleaing" don't know the actual term, we did better till nips got near the face, anytime you get nipped near the face GENTLY take their ear in your mouth and put a little pressure on. Will help assert that you are the dominant one, not them. Good Luck, and have patience.
