Your cat loves your company. if you want to have a way to have your cat stop following you around as much, get them a pal. another kitten or cat to play with. That helps sometimes because then you aren't their only companion.

I don't know how old your cat is, but if she is still fairly young, she is doing this because you are her mama. My kitty still follows me around and cries if she is locked out of the room I am in. I know she will grow out of it soon, so I enjoy it while I can. It's normal behavior for a kitty whom is well loved to want to be with the person she loves back.
So don't worry, you kitty is fine.
