why does my cat have sores i dont see fleas, i havent used a product that i dont normally use on the2007-11-25 12:32:05

i dont think it is allergies cuz i have had them on the same food. let me know your input, otherwise i have to wait till i get some extra money to take her to the doc.

Does your cat fight with other animals that might bite the cat causing sores? Keep cat inside.

Is anyone abusing your cat?

Cat may be allergic to insect or flea bites even though only one flea can be allergic and cause sores.

May have skin condition and be chewing at skin.

Hi there! I'm having the same problem with my cat. I'm taking her to my vet on Saturday to see what is going on. She has a sore on her leg that is pretty red. If you want to know what my vet says, feel free to email me and i'll let you know Saturday after her appoitment. =)

I had the same problem..I wasn't seeing any fleas. But, sure enough, I got her to the vet and he was picking through her he only found one flea but there was flea dirt! I treated her, and the house for fleas, and haven't had a problem since.

Maybe your cat has dry skin or condition to his or her skin check with vet they can

help you by giving you shampoo for it.

if it is really concerning take it to the vet before they get infected. It may be bites from cat fights or an allergic reaction. can't say unless i was a vet and look at the sores.

Even if you don't see fleas, they can still be there. Or mites, or lice.somthing's irritating it. If you don't treat your cat for fleas, I would recommend giving it a flea bath and slapping on some Frontline Plus (this is my preference.my cats react best to it. Advantage has made them nauseous in the past, and Hartz flea & tick drops killed one of my babies.) once a month.
