maybe your cat is scared of you! you should try to get it to come to you while you have a dish if milk in your hand or some food pr a treat of some sort! dont move fast around it and just let it come to you! dont go to it! also let the cat get use to you! is it a new kitten or an older one? i have been around cats since i was born and i just got one of my own about 6 months ago! his name is scruffy! hes the best kitten ever! good luck
Is it possible that it thinks that it is playing? Mine do that sometimes when they think that we are playing. Either that, or it is scared. Did anything really frightening happen to it?
