conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the lining of the eye and the eyelids. It can be caused by infection, allergy or outside factors such as exposure to chemicals or trauma (a wound from a fight for example). Im not sure. Pink eye is a human condition. Most pets do not contract human viruses. If I were you I would take my cat to the vet just to check it out. In humans pink eye can be fatal, very rarely.
