why does my cat keep wetting on my bed when she knows where her clean try is2007-11-25 12:32:07

im starting to worry as she only seems to do this when the music is on loud and i have a few friends over.

Answers:

whats a clean try?

Maybe all the people irritate and scare her.. lock her in a room other than your own

She is, I think, getting territorial - she dislike the noise, probably, and wants to say "this is my place, I am in command, turn the noise down or I will make you sorry".

If she does it also when it's peaceful, you may want to try going to the vet, though - she may be having problems with the urinary tract. Is she using the litter at all? If not, definitely go to the vet.

Three possible reasons:

1. Something on your bed causes her to think it's a good place to pee.

2. She's scared by the music and your friends.

3. She's trying to get your attention.

I personally think it's more the latter, since she only does it when you're occupied with something else (music or friends for example.

She's probably just marking the territory, but pretty gutsy to do it in front of you.. or you did something to upset her.

Think dogs have done that too in the past.

Push her face onto the peed on area and then lightly smack her on the head and say NOOOO.

She won't do it next time..

IF she does, overdose her on catnip !

teach by example, urinate in her bed
Your cat is unhappy about the music and the loss of YOUR attention to your friends. All you can do is catch the cat before she goes and take her to the tray. Or you can remove her from the situation and put her in another room or outside.
The smell is penetrated in your bed so your cat thinks that it is a good spot to pee. Try cleaning your mattress thoroughly to try to get the smell out.
I think you have just answered your own question. If your home is usually quiet, then perhaps the cat gets nervous around your friends, especially if the music is very loud. This is part of why pets are kept indoors during bonfire night - to protect them from the loud bangs of fireworks (and of course the obvious risk of being burnt). Perhaps you should consider lowering the level of your music a bit when your friends come round, or invite different combinations of friends. It might be that something has happened that you are unaware of and that your cat is scared of one of them. If you are not prepared to consider any of these options for whatever reason, maybe another option is to talk to your vet and get their advice. There are such things as pet psychologists too. Equally, you could consider asking a friend or neighbour to look after the cat when you are having a party, or put her into a cattery for the times you are having a party.
Urinary tract infections will cause that type of behaviour.
she dont like the loud music put her in another room with a clean litter box when u have friends over the music maybe hurting her ears
My cat did this to me a few times. I think she was mad about me working a lot and not being home or something. Finally I couldn't handle it anymore and gave her to my aunt. She doesn't work and was able to spend a lot more time with her. The cat never made a mess for my aunt!
I think ,she is just want to get your attention, she is a lovely girl.If i were you,i would buy fish for her everyday.
I think where is has done it once she thinks it's OK to keep doing it. Try a spray that will put her off
Cats dislike loud music and strangers and kitty is letting you know this.
