why does my kitten have a poop on her tray when i take her to it, if i dont she will do it under the2007-11-25 12:32:21Answers:

You have to train kittens to use the litter tray. If she won't go to it yet, then put it in the place she does go and then when she's using it regularly, gradually move it towards the place you want her to use it. Perhaps the place you have it has too much 'human traffic' near it - cats like privacy.

You need to encourage her to use it, as if you were her mother. Take her there after waking and after meals.

By far, the most entertaining way to litterbox-train a kitten is to start using it yourself. and the kitten will eventually get the idea. Since most people aren't ready for this, you need to just keep scooping up your kitten and putting her in her litterbox . hopefully she will get the idea.

As gross as it sounds, if she doesn't get the idea, borrow some kitty poop and clumped pee from a friend (a close friend who won't think you are weird for wanting this) and add them to your kitten's box . your kitten will smell kitty poo and pee and (hopefully) get the idea!
