Your kitten probably needs to have his anal glands expressed. Take him to the vet as soon as possible. Anal glands are usually expressed naturally when an animal defecates , but in some animals (especially in overweight ones!) they cannot express them themselves. It is a quick and usually painless outpatient procedure and not usually too expensive. At the vet clinic where I work we charge $10 to do the procedure.

It could also possibly be hookworms. If your kitten has hookworms, they could be irritating his anus and causing him to itch it on the ground. Your vet can do a fecal and tell you if he has worms. If you don't want to do the fecal, you can go ahead and deworm him anyway. It doesn't hurt to deworm a kitten even if he doesn't have worms.

The anal glands are more likely the problem though.

Hope this helps and good luck to your kitty!

ummmm. has your kitten being nutered yet? you may want to think about that because he might be matturing too much. if you get him nutered, if he hasnt been already, it might stop him for doing what he is doing now.
If he is still doing that tomorrow, you need to bring him to the vet.
He's probably irritated and trying to scratch around him back areas
maybe he's got worms. if you are talking about him dragging his rear. sounds like it is irritated or itching. have him checked.
If he does it after having a bowel movement, it's his way of trying to wipe his butt clean of remaining fecal matter.
wiping his
Take your kitten to the vet as soon as possible. He may have neurological or medical problems. It could also be worms. I had a female cat that did that and she died from feline leukemia.
He has parasites and needs to eat well and have it shot for parasites.
Because it's fun?
He may have worms or may need to be neutered. Take him to see a vet!
