This is perfectly normal for a kitten. It is the way they play. Do not play with your kitten with your hands. Always use an interactive toy such as a cat dancer or feather toy.
If the kitten bites you: (1) pick it up gently and hiss in its face (this is what the mother cat does to correct her kittens, (2) say a firm "No!" and (3) put the kitten gently away from you.
Remember he is just a baby and will not learn right away. If you are absolutely consistent in this three-step procedure he will get the message.
If he had another kitten to play with they would teach each other to play and fight "fair" and he would be trained in very short order.
With one kitten you are both playmate and mother so it is your responsibility to see he learns his manners.
I know it sounds odd, but they actually might be teething. My cat went through this, just buy him lots of fluffy toys for him to sink his teeth into and they probably scratch because they want their claws sharper!

It's called discipline. Stop in now before he matures or you will have a very mean cat on your hands. Pinch his paws when he scratches and hold his mouth closed for a second or two when he bites. This won't hurt him, but it won't take long before he learns. Don't ever hit him. Of course, if you are wiggling your toes under the covers, he'll attack ya every time and you can't punish him for that! Good Luck.
dont worry, it is very normal and they keep doing this until they are at least 6 months old.
Scratching is a behavior that'll probably NEVER outgrow. It keeps their claws sharp and it also helps shed their old claws (you'll find old claws around the house as they get older). You need to get a scratching post and start giving the kitty rewards for using it.
