I did contact a manufacturer of cat food a few years ago to ask why no Mouse flavoured food, they said it was because Mice are vermin and your cat shouldn't be fed it.
I politely told the lady "My cat feeds herself on them and likes them, better than your tinned stuff."
She hung up on me.
What do cats taste like? Surely the makers of the dog food would have to know this in order to test the foods authenticity! Yuk.
I think the answer is that no one thought of marketing it yet.
All this stuff about dogs not eating cats (in previous answers) is a red herring (!!).
We used to be able to buy hedgehog flavoured crisps, and about as many people eat hedgehogs as dogs eat cats!
There is it's called "rabbit". They taste exactly the same apparently. Dogs and Cats are not ENEMIES normally and certainly wouldn't eat each other anyway. I have both and my GSD is bottom of the pecking order.
i think its because it would mix the people up that make dog@cat food. i buy my dog cat food as that is all she will eat. so if you dog likes cat food just give it to him/her. I do
