will my kitty ever stop hissing at my new kitty what should i do
I would hold your first cat and give it some affection and then while petting it and it on your lap have someone bring the new kitty over but not to close and keep petting your cat and tell it " look at the baby kitty" you know kinda baby talk your cat and let him or her know that they are still special but dont touch the other cat yet just keep petting your cat with someone else holding the new kitty and slowly have them bring the kitty closer and closer but keep giving your cat attention then if you can hold him in a way he doesnt feel pinned but enough so he wont try to smack the new kitty and have the other person bring the new kitty close enough so he or she can get a smell of the new kitty. Keep baby talking you cat and showing it love then if it seems calm reach over and pet the new kitty a few times and then your cat again and let him smell the new kitty again. The new kitty is going to want to try and follow the other cat around but for a few days try to not let it do that and maybe try and keep the new kitty seperate but where the other cat on his or her own can go and investigate the new one. It shouldnt take to long and they will be just fine I hope. My two get along great until dinner time and if the older one is really hungry and the new cat is anywhere close by he will take it on on the new cat like its his fault or something that dinner is slow to be served. But other than that they now sleep together and clean each other. good luck
Yes..unless your resident cat really hates other cats.a LOT. If this is a fairly new situation, just give the cats time to get used to each other.
They need to work out who is boss. Give them time. Unless they are fighting and hurting each other I wouldn't worry too much.
Don't worry they all do that when an new one comes into the family, just make sure you show your first kitty alot of love and the second one too. There isn't anything you really do just watch them , if they fight throw some water on them cats hate water.
yes, it make take a day or two but eventually it will be fine
Give it some time to get used to the new kitty before you make any major decisions.
