Anyone ever heard of this surgery for a dog2007-11-25 2:58:17

Apparently, my pup has scratched his cornea, and if his millions of drops don't work to help repair it, he's going to need surgery to get his 3rd eyelid "activated" so that he's got more eye protection and a functioning eyelid. I've never heard of this - - am I the only one? Thoughts?

its happen to people before.made them get fat and look weird and it still didnt fix it.but you should always geet a 2nd opinoin

I've not personally heard of this, but this could be the last attempt to save the eye before being left with only the option to remove it. My mom had a Shih-tzu that scratched the cornea (not uncommon for this breed) and after many attempts to clear it up, the vet finally removed it as the last option for the dog.
