Answers:The "British Bulldog" was a nickname for Winston Churchill.
You mean "Bulldog" - formerly referred to as "English Bulldog."
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A LOW MAINTENCE BULLDOG WITH THEIR HEALTH PROBLEMS AND CLIMATE SENSITIVITIES
(1) They are expensive to buy because the dams have very very small litters - typically only 2-3 puppies AND have a very high rate of Caesearin sections costing $1200 US or $1360 Canadian for the surgery
(2) Prices start at $1800/ $2050 CDN pet and go up to $3000/ 4000 CDN for a show prospect
(3) The breed has enormous problems with hip dysplasia (nearly 74% ) and elbow dysplasia (40%) plus patella (kneecap) abnormalities (.14%) http://www.offa.org/stats.html#breed.
You can pay the price to a responsible breeder who screens for hereditary health problems NOW or pay it later in evenmore enormous vet bills ($3000-5000 for a hip replacement.)
