Can I adopt an abandon dog2007-11-25 3:00:03

There is a jack russle terrier in our trailor park, she has owners but they let her stray and she has untreated medical conditions and I went to the owner to have her permission to take her in. They leave her out in the cold and rain and they dont feed her, but they said no I cant have her, I let her in to sleep at night and I feed her and keep her in when it's cold. I have the money and time to care for her so could she do anything if I just took the dog in and kept it as mine. The dog had puppies too and she was so uncared for they all died but 2 wich other people took in and cared for. I just dont want to get in any trouble

Call the humane society on them! Thats cruelity to animals.It's also against the law.

take it in and keep it. if anyone says anything about it you can talk to some of the local animal places..i really hope everything works out for the best in your favor.

Take the collar off the dog and turn it into the human society in the next town. Make sure you let them know if no one claims it that you want it and they will usually let you adopt her right out. Once you have the paperwork from the pound there is nothing they can do. By turning it in a ytown away it will be harder for them to find her though it doesn't sound like they will look too hard for her. Just make sure you tell them you found her abandoned and that you have no clue who the owners are.

You will get in trouble for taking the dog, the best thing to do is call the humane Society or pound in your area.. They will come pick up the dog.. Go to the pound where they took the dog and make it known to them you are the one who called about the dog and that you would like to adopt it..Good Luck on saving the poor baby. I wish there was a way to treat the people the same way they treat thier animals.. Some people just dont deserve to have animals..

Call the humane society. They can take the dog away and you can buy it from the rescue center. I hope this dog will be okay and live a happy life with you. you did a good deed here taking her in. People who can't care for a dog shouldn't have tham.

Call the ASPCA in your area tell them the problem. They will come and take the dog, treat the dog and legally the dog becomes the property of the state and then can be put up for adoption. You can put in a request to adopt the dog at the time of the call, they are willing to adopt the dog to you so the dog has a guaranteed home. The problem with this, is that you live very close to these people and may have issues with them after its all said and done.
