Can I sue my vet? My english bulldog cleo got spayed on a wed. the next day I got home from work her staples had come loose and her stomach lining was poking through. I rushed her to the emergency vet and I had to pay $800 for her to get reopened. They told me the sutra or inside stiches had come loose. The vet who did the spay said that those things just happen and there was no need to take her to a emergency vet because her situation was not life threatening. I dont know about you but I was not going to let my dog go over night bleeding and get stomach sticking out of her staples until my original vet is open. Im not a vet I dont know what is life threatening to a animal. Now the vet is refusing to fax me the paperwork regarding her spay surgery, such as the consent form I signed. What sohuld I do?

Oh, and I would done the same thing as you and taken the dog to an emergency vet, too. You did the right thing. I hope your dog is all better and has finally recovered from this horrible incident.

Hey playa. i dunno who your vet is, but that crap shouldnt happen. you know how my mom own a dog business, right? well she's had that happen a few times and her vet gets up in the middle of the friggin night to fix it. I dont know what you can do legally, but if you want i can find out what some of your options may be. Lemme know. Your regular very is responsible for his own surgeries and i think you could at least get the 2nd operation paid for.

You can sue anyone for anything. It doesn't mean you will win. But I would sue. Call a lawyer today. The vet should have to pay the ER bill. If you didn't let the dog run around and tear itself up then the vet did bad work and he may continue to do so. BOTH sets of stitches came out. He didn't do it right!!

Talk to a lawyer..and I am sure you can sure to at least pay for the damages and the original surgery..there are risks involved in any surgery but not giving you the documentation is a little off..go to a lawyer see what they say.

let him know that you are calling your attorney, maybe that will scare him.if you have to, then do call an attorney to help you.it sounds like malpractice here..especially if he is refusing to give you a receipt of the spay. good luck! hope your little guy is doing better!!
