What do they do to treat dogs that have lost a lot of blood? Do they give them something else or do they have a reserve of dog blood? Also do dogs have blood types like humans?

i used to work at a animal hospital and we had a blood donor dog and cat that lived right there at the hospital so if they needed blood they would have it. I never asked about different types but our blood donor dog was a rottweiler and they put it into a mixed poodle.so i think it is just dog blood, no types.
