If your dog has an ear infection, your vet needs to prescribe something. This is urgent. Your dog could go deaf.

Do not medicate the dog yourself. Tetracycline has it's place, but should NOT be used in certain instances. It really does not help for an ear infection either.

I would not give your dog anything without first contacting your vet. Tetracycline is not the best antibiotic for ears. Contact your vet for an appointment. They will be able to show you how to do ear cleanings on your dog and prescribe the proper medication

We were given a clear gooey topical ointment for our dogs ear infection. It is not a good idea to give dogs people medicine or human doses of antibiotic because it can be very hard on their organs. I think the prescription was about $40. It worked really quick. DOn't mess around with trying to find a way to cure it, do it the right way, you may risk damaging its hearing if you don't. rinse earsd with virbac ( an ear cleanser ) then use tresaderm ear solution 15 ml. 2 drops to both ears once a day for 10 days. be safe use Vet approved products only.

You can't give a dog any human dose of Tetracycline,but you can give the Tetracycline for animals.This medication is given to fight bacterial infections and the dosage is 10 mg. per lb. every 8 hours.Your pets can also be treated with The meds Otomax for a ossible yeast infection within the ears.Cleane pets ears with a drop or two or hydrogen peroxide,let stand a few seconds and remove excess with a clean Qtip,but don't stick in ear too far.

Antibiotic ear drops are given for an ear infection. Tetracycline is given by mouth.
