Can you tell me If Animals and birds see in colour
Well, people always say that they can't, but if that is true, why do so many animals, birds and insects display bright colours in order to attract a mate or put of predators? Surely it would be pointless.
no they don't
I think so, otherwise what would be the point in male birds being so brightly coloured to attract the female ones? Not sure about all animals, I think dogs vision has something to do with the colour red!
only animal that could see in color is a TURKEY.
In the animal kingdom, sight is accomplished by using either rods or cones
on the retina of the eye. Animals that see black and white and shades of
gray have only the rods in their retina. Animals that see color have both
rods and cones; the cones are for color, but require a lot more light to
stimulate. The bottom line is that animals that see color are diurnal
[daylight] and black and white vision is for nocturnal [night] vision. If
an animal does not see color, it is adapted to night vision.
I think some animals can my dog recognises the pets at home carrier bag (its got a big green logo on) and he goes mad because he knows we have bought yet another treat, my tortoises can defo see green as they went through a phase of only eating the green ones (their food is tiny coloured pellets there is thousands a tub) out of their food, so I had to pick them all out for them it took hours. I know that birds can see ultra violet light but what difference that makes I dont know.
i know dogs do my dog only attacks my yellow dusters not my white cloths
I think they probably do see colour, they have sophisticated eyes, just as we do
I really hope they do. Because every creature should be able to see the beauty that is our planet.
Also I love my cat puddin chops sooo much that it would make me cry to know he could only see the world through black ad white.
Sorry, I am fully aware of my complete and utter softness!
