Canine Yeast Infections2007-11-25 3:00:18

My dog Ringo is a shih Tzu and he has, what we think is a yeast infection. He has the musty smell, flaky yellowish skin, rashes, and itching. Other than changing his diet, is there anything else we can do? Should we take him to the vet office to get it checked out?

Answers:

Changing his diet is a very good idea! I would suggest asking your vet about Eukanuba Response FP. If your dog has fleas then he could also be experiencing a flea allergy. Yes, I would suggest you make him an appointment. He probably needs some special shampoo, some steroids, and possibly some antibiotics to get him a boost on the road to recovery. Good Luck

I would suggest the Vet's, yeah. I think they might be the only people have can give reliable help on your pooch's problem. Careful also what you feed your dog-do you feed him your dinner etc?
Please take him to the Vet to have it checked out. Otherwise, how are you going to get medication to treat him? Also, are you 100% sure that's what it is? Please have him checked by a Veterinarian.
