Answers:lovely dogs!
if you have time, BARF is a good way to go, but with a puppy, it'll probably have some digestive problems at first, so you may want to wait until it's around 1 yr before you start BARF. Since it's a large/giant breed, the pup should be fed 3x per day for at least the first 9 months. If you use dog food make sure to pick something up for Large Breed Puppy (and stay away from Science Diet, Iams, Purina and Eukanuba). Depending on what you want to spend, a good quality for reasonable price would be Nutro, if you're willing to pay a little extra, look into the Solid Gold brand. There are feeding instructions on the back of the bag based on the weight and age of your pup.
Puppies are known for being very playful and that can lead to being destructive. Also St. Bernards have to grow so much in a short period of time, you don't want to overwork your puppy. Try to keep it from jumping on you, this will avoid it thinking it's okay when it gets older as well as putting less stress on the developing joints.
