Make sure that you accept a reasonable price. Do not pay the all out price for it just talk your way to getting it lowered if it is really high. I can't think of anything you really need to watch out for.

Don't buy a "Price Reduced" pet. Get referrals from others who have gotten pets from a particular breeder. If you can, visit the kennel. NEVER buy from a pet store!

You people that have to have a certain breed of dog p*ss me off. With all the dogs (and cats) in pounds and shelters across the country, you still feel the need to be able to say "well I. have a blah blah blah dog" like it's some kind of status symbol that you paid some ridiculous amount of money for a dog.

All my life I've had mutts and they have all been good dogs and much easier to train than any so-called pure breed.

Smaller dogs tend to more expensive than larger dogs mostly because the litter sizes are less than a large dog. Sometimes small dogs can only have 2 puppies at a time vs a large dog's 7-9 puppies. Plus the fact this is a rare breed . . .

The price can range. If you find one for a bargain basement price be wary, they may be a puppy mill breeder or the dog may be sick and the breeder does not want to disclose that to you. See if there's a warranty. Some states mandate 2 weeks warranty or even up to a month.
