Chihuahua/Pug Mix
I was wondering about the above mix of dog. Does anyone know the personality and temperment of these dogs?
Answers:Its hard to say since every dog is different. But, mixed dogs are usually pretty even tempered. Some Chihuahuas can be tempermental but others are sweet as pie. Pugs are usually gentle good dogs. All in all, I think it would be a good mix. It probably would not shed a lot.
You can usually tell pretty early on in puppyhood how the dog is going to be. If you have a particular puppy in mind check out this website. It will tell you how to test the puppies for good temperament. http://www.nrta.com/breedforfoundation/t.
If you dont have one you are interested in already check out www.petfinder.com and search by breed. Im sure you will find lots of chi/pug mixes in your area. The shelters/foster homes usually have a pretty good idea of temperament and personality and can find the perfect match for you!

ok well, we had a female chihuahua/pug mix named Princess Lou, and she was very tolerant with our 2 cats, and our 2 yr. old son, but she had her issues with being left alone, she had to be put in her kennel or she'd poop everywhere. She was overall a very good pet, but we got a new puppy, and she was the one to go..
my neighbor has this mix and she is very cute and friendly puppy.
I would assume they wouldn't shed much since they are short haired, but their hair is kind of bristly and sticks to things. It might be a cute cross, but it's going to sound like a big rat with asthma when it barks! Would it be called a Chihuapug? Or a Pughuahua? :)
