Cocker spaniel Puppy

Cocker spaniel Puppy2007-11-25 3:00:22

I just bought my cockerspaniel puppy he is 5 months old. Cutest thing I ever seen, But my question is that he has not barked or whinned. is this normal.

Answers:

Sounds like you have been blessed with a more content, relaxed pup than an overly energetic and excitable one. He must be happy and content in his new home with you. He may start barking down the road when he realizes this new place is his territory and he starts protecting you and his new home. Good job with all the love you must be giving him!

he's adjusting. don't encourage the barking..you may regret it later. start training now.
Yes, it's normal. It is normal (and probably a blessing) to have a quiet, complacent dog! If you do feel he doesn't have a 'voice,' take him into the vet and have him checked out. I'm sure once he gets more adjusted, he'll have something to talk to you about!
Consider yourself lucky. Some dogs do not bark or whine much and you might just have one. I have a 9 month old puppy that I heard bark for the 1st time about a week ago and I haven't heard him since. I am very happy that he is a quiet dog since my other two bark at anything and everything.
No there's nothing wrong with him.some puppies do and some don't. he's just getting used to everything.
cool.i got my cocker spaniel pup when he was of 5 months old too.when i got him he was quite for a few days and when i got him a kennel and trained him to stay outdoorted he started barking like mad!i think pups have to adjust first and maybe you are giving ur pup averything he wants.dogs bark out of desperation so maybe u r takin goo d care of ur doggie.dont worry.
Once he starts you'll wish he hadn't. lol
