Could a female dog and a male fox mate and have a litter
I've just recently met what was claimed to be the puppy/cub of such a meeting. Very lovely dog, with some fox characteristics I suppose, but I'm a little doubtful.

I think it could be possible, the dog could end up looking like a very odd litter tho depending on the females breed a poodle and a fox now that would be strange wouldnt it

They breed wolves and domestic dogs, so why wouldn't a fox and a dog be able to do it.
no. it isnt possible that the fox genetics would survive in the **. she could die or the puppie wont be made properly. it would have many deformerties if it gets the chance to be made. its like asking if humans can mate with chimps really!
Yes, it has been known to happen. More common between dogs and wolves, and between coyotes and dogs. But a ** in heat will attract all kinds of things. I think to that it might have something to do with the genes of the dog.

I guess it could happen but what would it's personality be like a fox is wild and the dog may have those tendencies could be mean, not really knowing I would be skeptical and just because it fox like characteristics that could change as it grows.there are dogs now that look like fox
No, that is not biologically possible. Foxes are part of the canid family, but not part of the same species as dogs.
Coyotes and wolves have been known to successfully mate (ie, produce offspring) both in the wild and captivity, but foxes are not close enough for the genetic material to combine and create an embryo.
Just like chimps have 98% of the same genes as humans, but are not close enough to mate successfully (not that anyone would want to, but there are some weird dudes out there.)
