Do Mixed-Breed Puppies/Dogs Make The Better Pet Than Purebreeds2007-11-25 3:00:43

As for mixed breed dogs dieing faster, I'm not so sure. My family had a mixed breed dog when I was growing up and she lived for 14 years. And she was the second smartest best mannered dog that we've had.

My girlfriend and I, as previously stated, now have a registered Border Collie. She's number one on our list of dogs as far as manners, intelligence, and temperment. It was very convienient for me as a dog owner to be able to read about the various nuances of the Border Collie.

I was able to make several small changes to my life style to meet our dog's needs. I believe I'm better dog owner for it and I also believe the dog is healthier and happier for it. Honestly, she's the healthiest dog we've ever owned.

The call is really up to you, but all I know is that I will NEVER own another dog unless it's a Border Collie..HEHEHE.

I have both. Purebreed Siberian Huskies and my son has a mutt.

They have both been good dogs, though the mutt did have a bit of an attitude right after she had pups.

yes they are manly calmer. i have 2 purebreeds and one mutt. The mutt is so kind. One of my purebreeds was put to sleep because he "bit" my cousin.

There is a MYTH among genetic ignoramuses that mixed breeds are healthier.

Breed a dysplastic dog of one breed to a dog of another breed who has the gene for dysplasia but isn't showing the trait in xrays and 3 out of 4 puppies will have dsyplasia!! It doesn't matter if dad was a chihuahua and mom a great dane!
