Do puppies eyes focus
I am abuot to get an Australian shepherd puppy. I am flying down to pick it up so I can't see it in person before hand. In the pictures it looks like one of the eyes looks out a bit to the side. will it straighten as it gets older. It is 7.5 weeks old currently

Answers:Well the only thing that I can really tell you is that Aussies can have eye problems so ask the breeder or your vet for information. Or maybe it could just be the picture? Contact the breeder asap if you're that concerned and ask them if the puppies eyes really look like that? Could have just been the picture knowing that Aussies are quite the excited type so maybe the pup was just overly excited and was looking at something funny.
So best bet: Contact the breeder again and ask don't be afraid to ask questions to them or a vet. =]

definitely a question i'd mention to a vet -- even if its just a quick call to a local vet on your way to the airport. in the meantime, a search on AKC site will let you know if the A.S has history of eye problems with the breed. i've had AS before, they are great dogs and i've never heard of such a problem.
be sure to check the reputation of the breeder if you are unsure. most breeders should gladly offer you references.
