Do you feed your dog a raw menu2007-11-25 3:01:17

What system do you use? How do you separate the weight and percentage of bones in necks and racks?

Answers:

I just want to say this.look into the BARF diet. All the people here that say it is bad, or "feed your dog cooked food" don't know what they are talking about. As for the guy who said dogs should not eat meat..well a canine is a canine. Back in the days, they did not have dog food as we know it. All dogs were feed raw meats. Look for the book : The BARF Diet: Raw Feeding for Dogs and Cats Using Evolutionary Principles by Dr. Ian Billinghurst. This will introduce you to the BARF diet.

Good Luck!

Nope my pit just tears the bones and flesh,

i feed him like ten gals of milk a week, and pure pure protein ..

im starting to get scared of my own dog. .lol

Human food can kill your dog..
NO! HE WILL VOMIT,GET WORMS AND ESPECIALLY WITH RAW BONES BECOME VICIOUS, GETTING THE TASTE OF BLOOD. NOT TO MENTION DIARRHEA AND WORMS
dogs can not process raw meat a vet told me. a coyote will eat a animal whole and the skin/hair will protect his digestive system from bones. any meat you give your dog should be cooked. there are many nasty things in meat these days and your putting your dog at great risk by feeding him raw meat. consult with your vet. hope this helps
THE ONLY RAW MEAT I FEED MY BOYS IS FAT OFF STEAK, PORK, ETC. AND NEVER TOO MUCH.
I knew someone who would feed their dogs raw meat. It depends on the size of your dog of course. If the dog is small, about 25lbs, I'de say it was safe to feed it about a hand full of raw meat, mixed with some dry food. If it is a large dog like a german shepherd, use two hands ful with a little dry food..If you dont want to use dry dog food you can try using a cooked chopped egg, or rice. If you want you can feed it ground beef and one chicken thigh. You don't need to cut the thigh up, because the dog will do it, itself. A neck would be fine as long as its not too long, you may want to cut it in half. If you plan on feeding it ribs, I would cut the ribs apart and leave about 2 or 3 in the dog bowl. Here is a useful website on raw diets for dogs. You can take a look if you would like.http://members.shaw.ca/naturalpaws/rawdi.
