Driving a few hours for the right dog is a great investment of time and gasoline.

If you have to spend a little more, figure out the additional cost over the life of the dog - it is pennies a day.

Animal shelters have Beagles as well as many other pure breeds and mixed breeds. I hope you will choose to save a life and get an incredible dog as well instead of supporting people who are really responsible for many dogs being put to sleep because there are no homes for them.

i actually live near and no i sure do not but the boarding kennel i work for helps rescue leagues and there is a houston beagle rescue!! and they have young one big ones small ones male female ect. and they are way cheeper than $400 not all pets in rescues are problems many people get rid of them for the reasons others love them for ex:they are noisey,they are curious and stubborn ect. when you adopt from a league the pet comes with all the shots and spayed/nuetered which one you buy will not.well good luck!!don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die :) go to petfinder.com
