I had a working GP..He was amazing. They are not the best as housepets, but are a working ranch's dream.

They need a job to do, and staying indoors is uncomfortable for them. ..Plus, they shed year around, big time!

They bark as a sentinel all through the night..sleep 20 minutes, wake enough to give 5 loud barks, sleep 20 minutes, etc...ALL night long. That is to signal any predators of the flock, that a big dog is on duty..This is not easily trained out of the dogs of this breed, as they have been bred for livestock guardians for centuries.

They are absolutely wonderful with children, although will become bossy with them..They are known as 'nanny dogs' or 'nurse' dogs, as they are so protective of kids. They also get long with other household pets. They have no desire to chase a cat..

They can't tolerate corn or wheat in their dog food.

I do not have one, but know 2 people who do. They absolutely love them. They are loyal and are a lifesaving dog, too. Both the ones I know are wonderful, friendly dogs; very smart, too. I would love to have one, but they are very large!

I don't have one. But I work at a vet clinic and we have seen a few. The ones I have met are very nice dogs, they just have a lot of hair. I have probably only met 6 of them, but all of the ones I have met are Sweet sweet dogs. Two of them live in a neighborhood, and do just fine, the others live on a horse farm.

no, I have basset hounds, but I know some people who have a great pyrenees and they are beautiful dogs. They are aksi very good natured. They are very large, so if you do not have space for them then you should try a smaller breed. If you do have room then they are great dogs.

Hello..just a tip, the bigger the dog, the shorter the lifespan..like great danes usually only live 8-10 years, otherwise they're GREAT..no such thing as bad dogs/animals, just bad people/owners..and sorry, any dog is trainable ;)Take Care :)

My exboyfriend had one and I'll tell you- the only reason I stayed with him as long as I did was for that dog.
