Does anybody have any experience with shiloh shepherds2007-11-25 2:27:59

I know they arent akc registerd and that they are beautiful looking dogs, but I am curious about them. (peoples personal experiences with them) and descriptions of the personality and temporment.

She is HUGE

she is also very well trained, well cared for, well vetted, and well loved

I suppose partially because of her temperment and partially because of her training she is one of the most even, steady dogs I have ever met.

She goes to music festivals & parades... those are things that would overstimulate most dogs & she does great.

I'm sure that they can make great pets. If you are interested in one I suggest finding a relatively nearby show that would have them so that you could meet a few and talk to their owners about them.

But I have personal issues with the crap that the breed originators are trying to sell as far as their justification for creating giant long-haired German shepherds. I don't believe that they are any less prone to hip dysplasia (if anything, their excessive size makes them more prone) or other health problems or that they have a better tempermant than a well bred german shepherd. Honestly, I think they are just as prone to the health and temperament problems that are plaguing the German shepherd breed.
