FLY PROBLEMS on my dogs :( Remedies2007-11-25 3:01:01

We used to live in a house with no grass, all cement for the dogs, so I thought this is why we had so many flies because of the poop.then we moved and have a huge grassy backyard and STILL have a million flies. We have two dogs and they just take over them, it's absolutely disgusting, there eating at their ears, etc. I feel so bad for them, we found this spray that seems to work for 10 mins, but does anyone else know of anything that would solve this problem? We also called an exterminator who brought out some kind of mister that completely did nothing to help :(

Pooper scoop the yard every day. You can also use a fly spray that is made just for dogs. You can purchase it at any Petco.

I use Adams' Flea Spray on my German Shepard and it works pretty good.

I have heard other people talk about fly problems with dogs. I have never had this problem with any of my dogs and I have owned dogs all my adult life, almost 40 years. Maybe if you kept the poop picked up, there would not be a problem.

IN THE STABLES WE USE TO PUT A LITTLE GARLIC IN THE HORSES FEED. THE SAME WORKS FOR DOGS. ASK YOUR VET FOR THE RIGHT AMOUNT.

There are flys everywhere. I'm sure it is not because of poop not being picked up. Go to Petco or PetSmart. Purchase a product called Flys Off. You cannot spray it where your dog will lick such as paws etc. But it works great on their ears. I sprayed it once on a cluster of flys and it killed them instantly. If your dogs ears are bitten up from the flys, you can use some Vaseline on them to help soothe the soreness.

Get Flys-Off. It's a pink cream that you can put on them.
