Fleas inside the house New baby at home How do we get rid of the fleas2007-11-25 3:01:01

Pets were inside. Dogs havenot been inside house for over 1 month. Any help greatly appreciated. We have hardwood & tile floors, no carpet.

I had the same problem with fleas, no new baby though! Get Diatomaceous Earth, put in a flour sifter, sprinkle on everything, even the dogs, it;s not toxic to animals or humans make sure you wear a mask, because it is a fine powder.Put on your hardwood floors, use a dust mop to get it in the grooves of the wood, do the same with the tile floor.You have to leave on at least 24 hours, than mop as you usually do.Repeat every week, until you don't see anymore fleas.I have tried this, and it works.You can sprinkle on your furniture, make sure you lift your sofa cushions up and do underneath the cushions.Good luck.Also, another hint, starting in February keep your grass mowed very short and water frequently, it will roast and drown the fleas, you can even use the Diatomaceous Earth in your yard, do your whole yard with it.Good luck and congrats on the new baby!

Get flea bombs, they work, are relatively inexpensive, you can get them at wal-mart, also read all the directions, Boric acid will only work for carpets, dont get any kind of powders because you only have tile and hardwood, the bombs will work the best, you might have to do it twice though and good luck with the new baby!

" Flea Bomb " ! Take yourselves, to a different location.. cover foods in your cupboards, and any that are 'exposed' (like loaves of bread..etc.) and let off a flea bomb in the house. 9 times out of 10, that works great.

At least you only have hardwood floors and tile floors. Have you tried washing everything down(furniture, clothes and etc.). You also need to put stuffed animals and things of this nature in garbage bags for two weeks. I think you just need to wash everything and make sure to kill the fleas on your pets even if they are outside.

You are going to have to de-flea the pets completely before the fleas will stop following you inside. Fleas cannot live on humans. They may bite, but only once. They are just following you in from outside with the dogs. Try flea collars along with Advantage flea/tick treatment, the stuff you apply onto the skin(of the dogs) down their back in a line. It works great. Good luck.

i AGREE WITH ALL OF THESE BUT PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF AND THE BABY FOR A FEW HOURS AFTERWARD. Also take what ever pet you have for a flea bath.

The best thing I ever used was those sticky pads (like fly paper) on a tray that plugs into an outlet a few inches above the floor. The fleas will jump up trying to get to the light-like flying insects do, and will stick to the paper.

And it's harmless to pets, kids and people.

Aww..I hope you didnt throw your dogs outside just because a new baby came into the picture. Not really fair to the dogs.

Get the dogs on a flea prevention.Frontline, Advantage.

A bomb will probably work the best. Just make sure you get all the baby stuff out.
