german shepherd about a year old...female.

my dog is so out of control and she wont settle down.

she is always excited and stuff..and she keeps jumpin on me...

Got time? Put her on a leash--where you go she goes for a day or two/. It is VERY annoying and you must have Patience. Do not pet her or do much with her while she is excited. That is a reward. for bad behavior. And lets her think that behavior gets your attention, When she is calm acknowledge her (than).

Slower way--do it the same way when you can.

I would advise obedience training. You need to become the leader in the pack. Keep in mind dogs are puppies until 3 years of age. This is expected. But get some training and things will change. Good luck

Maybe you should get your GSD and I'll get mine and together they can spawn the dog of satan.

My male is a 13 months old and he's as crazy as hell. He does the same thing...and he's actually a bit calmer than a few months ago.

Make sure you get her plenty of exercise. Walk her and play her until she is too tired to be all crazy. I guarentee that will at least calm her down a bit. Also, if you get her spayed than she'll calm down as well.

This breed is a working breed and thrive when they have a "job" It can be as simple as fetch in the yard or exercise at a scheduled time. They need lots of toys to stimulate their minds. It also sounds as she may be establishing who is the alpha in the pack. Do not let her jump on you. In the wild affection is invited it needs to be the same in a household. Look for some training classes.
