Neutering my pup2007-11-25 2:13:15

So i have an 8week old yorkiepoo and iam going to get him neuterd..how much longer can i wait? Will he be in alot of pain when he gets it done? Whats the avergae cost of this procedure?

the vets usually say 3 months. if its too young it would be pretty dangerous.

It is very smart of you. Neuter a male pup is fair simple procedure. Usually is done around 5 months old. The price probably is around $100-$200.

I think they ask you to wait until they are between 6 months to a year. I have a mini daushaund and the vet wouldn't even do it until he was 6 months old.

By the way, I took mine to Luv My Pet..and the vet did it for 80 bucks.

Most vets recommend around 4-6 months. It can be done as soon as both testicles have dropped, but I myself prefer also to let them mature a little so I do it around 6 months..
