Neutering puppy, what age Laser Surgery
I am getting a puppy this friday and was wondering at what age should I have him neutered. He will be 6 weeks old. I was not sure if I should wait a week or two to have him neutered or not. I will be calling a few vets in my area today to see what they recommend and the prices.
I was also wanting to have the laser surgery done. Less bleeding, less pain, and quicker recovery. Has anyone had experience with this?
Thanks for the responses.
Answers:my vet said as long as they are over 2 pounds and over the age of 8 wks old
He is too young at 6 weeks of age to be taken from his mom.. Leave him where he is for at least 2 more weeks.. It will make training, socialization and everything else much easier for you later if you leave him w/ mom and littermates.
I certainly wouldnt have him neutered at this age and I am guessing when you ring around the vets they will tell you to keep him a while yet.

Don't waster your money on laser. there is rarely any bleeding nor does a pet know he has been neutered.
Pooch should be with siblings till 8 weeks. I would check your local laws about them "selling" a pup before 8 weeks and I would think twice about getting a dog from someone that would let it go before 8 weeks.
