Protect myself from dogs, PLEASE2007-11-25 2:14:38

Hello, thanks for comming and reading this much appreciated.

I always have to walk home from school every weekday, I go home later than others so when I walk home no one is around to help me when I walk home. WHich is 1 KM walk from my school.

I have a huge fear of dogs and have been attacked from dogs from walking home one time. There were two dogs. I yelled at them and gonna pat them but they started barking and I started to yell at them and they got more angry and I cried so much and yelling for help... The dogs bit my skin off so i walked home with a bleeding leg.

Is there any way to protect myself from dogs, cos I just never want to walk home ever again with the fear of dogs comming to hurt me. Im a really defence-less 12 yr old girl.

Pepper spray. It will protect you from other predators, too.

Pepper spray is unfortunately not allowed in most schools. Your best bet is going to be staying far away from any dogs along your route. Cross the street if you have to. If there are dogs along your route that aren't normally fenced in or chained up, have a teacher or a parent contact animal control.

Next time you go out, weare a matle armor to protect your self from dogs.

Pepper and OC sprays are not instant, it takes a few to kick in so no those would not be good choices and there are the few that it does not work on. Call an adult to pick you up or maybe they can meet you half way?
