We are not getting any sleep She growls2007-11-25 2:50:10

My dog has recently taken over 1/2 of the bed. We have no room! If we try and move her, she snarls, shows teeth, and growls.

She stretches out long enough to fill the whole side. She has recently started doing this...in the past, she either slept in her bed or at the end on ours. Now she has moved to a full position!

Any advice!??

The only reason she's doing that is because you're letting her!

Put her in a crate at night or put a dog bed on the floor next to yours and put her in it every time she tried to get on your bed.

She has already established her domain you have to train her to stay off. Place her bed at the end or beside you she only wants to be close to you.Do not let her on it at all tell her no everytime you see her on there.

Get her off all furniture, walk out the door before she does on walks, etc. Make yourself dominant over her!

Obviously she is running the show! Get her out of your room all together! If she is housebroke and can be trusted not to chew things up, I would suggest moving her to a different room with either her own bed or one of the blankets from your bed (might help with the transition).

Much like the rest of us, dogs will try to get away with as much as they can. You dog has been allowed to sleep on the bed. Now that she is comfortable with it, she has tried to increase her area. As long as she is allowed to do this, she will.
