We just got a 1 yr old red nose pit bull All this dog does is eat our stuff What do we do2007-11-25 2:50:17

He eats couch cushions, clothes, soda bottles, he even ate the antenna off my cordless. Please help. We love him but we cant continue like this.

Give him something to bite on and scold him when he nibbles anything else, give him an old shoes and hide your other shoes, buy him some nibbling bones or sticks. he will stop anyway after being mature and that is another 6 months to go. Excersise him a lot he seems to be very bored.

Well, train him obviously. Dogs aren't born knowing what they can chew and what they can't. Is he crated when no one's home to watch him? If not, he needs to be crated until he's been trained and is reliable. What kind of training has this dog had before you got him? He needs to be taught how to behave in a house. Teach him.

Take him to the vet and put him down. Those dogs will turn on their owners and kids.

All dogs, especially active ones ( and puppies) need lots of excersise. a tired dog is a good dog!! Firstly you must get outside with this dog and let him run with other dogs or with you jogging or biking. Secondly you definitely should crate train him. get a good book or dvd about the basics so you do it right and your dog will thank you every night with the calm and cool of a happy dog with a safe place to sleep. thirdly you need to show him what he cannot chew on with firm "no!" and what he can chew on with "weeee" or "good boy!"
