We moved recently, new house has no doggie door Major elimination problems on our new carpet - 5 dog

Dogs were able to go out when they wanted before but now we have to let them out. They have accidents even though I let them out a lot. I've cleaned entire carpet 3 times in a month. Sugggestions? Cleaning Products? We have a security system - can we still have a pet door? Thanks for help.

I hope you didn't steam-clean your carpets before completely eliminating the pet scent and stain--using heat will actually set the protein into the carpet itself and will make it nearly impossible to remove.

The first thing you need to do is get a black light bulb and walk around when it's pitch black inside to see if you have any remaining stain or odor. Since your dogs are still having accidents, I'm assuming you do. Once you find the flourescent areas, use an ENZYMATIC CLEANING PRODUCT such as Natures Miracle. Since you have carpeting you're going to want to completely soak the areas down to the carpet pad with the product. Don't bother using a spray bottle--simply pour it straight on and let it soak. After about 20 minutes you can use a towel to soak up any excess product and let the rest air dry completely. It's actually in the drying process that the product will enzymize the remaining stain and odor. You may have to repeat the process several times until you no longer see anything showing up with the black light.

The reason you have to use an enzymatic cleaner is that your dogs will continue to use the bathroom in the same areas if they can smell any lingering odors. Normal household cleaners like Lysol and other carpet cleaners won't work. Even if you can't smell it anymore, your dogs can.
