I think you should not intentionally name him. You should wait until you get him and see what "pet name" you start calling him. A lot of people name their pets, and then it ends up changing because they just call him something based on his character. If he is dominant acting, they may call him Boss. etc.

I think that you should get the pup home and watch how the pupp acts and plays. They all have their own little personalities and believe me a name will come to you.

well since you have a boy collie and they are a more proper dog as they say you should find something fitting to his personality. Example I dont think shaggy would be a good name for a collie but would be a great name for a mutt--haha. Just ease into it and if it were me Id name him Lassie.
