What age is safe before giving a dog bones, chicken bones2007-11-25 2:50:26

i have a 3 month old puppy, my puppy is so stubborn, he only wants to eat when he wants and it's hard to get him on a schedule because i dont want to starve him. my son gave him a piece of chicken and every since then he refuses to eat his premium dog food. what should i do? do pugs have the potential to be aggressive, because he also have temper tantrums while playing with the kids, he is very aggravated with other animals, i have a very quiet cat i had for 4 years and he barks and bites the cat for no reason? whats wrong with my male pug?

Answers:

You can give dogs bones at any age.. but never, never give them chicken bones. Chicken bones splinter and can choke, kill a dog. Give the ham or like bones as they will like them and are good for their teeth.

pugs are just a little aggressive. its their nature. as for the food he'll change to dog food before he starves. make him do it. as for the chicken bones, they are a bad idea no matter your dogs age because they can splinter. You can give him other bones any time

And as far as what is wrong with your 3 month old pug... NOTHING, he's a puppy! You have to discipline him. Teach him right from wrong like any child.

first of all dont give your dog(any age or breed)chicken bones because they splinter and tear up the stomach..ive never heard of pugs being agressive...it is a big mistake most people make(including me) dont feed dogs table scraps because they do not want to eat...feed him only a certain time of day..may sound cruel but he WILL eat when he gets hungry...if you sit the food down for say 45 minutes and he doesnt eat put it up and the next time it is time to eat trust me he will eat...if it keeps it up though take him to the vet. as far as your pug barking at the cat...that is the puppy in him...my puppy does that to my older dog...im suprised my dog hasnt bitten the pups head off...i wouldve lol...
