I would have to say some kind of short haired dog because they have less fur, but still give it plenty of water.

Preferably a breed not too large, or small. No short/smushed snouts, and no long haired breeds.

Consider:

- Beagle

- Weimaraner

- Australian Cattle Dog

- Whippet

- Italian Greyhound

Keep in mind, these breeds aren't suitable to be KEPT outdoors, but are not effected by hot climates, like some other dog breeds. Dogs should be indoors for excessively hot weather (or cold).

Rhodesian Ridgebacks do great in hot weather, and I am not advocating NOT providing a dog with water at all times, but Ridgebacks can go longer than just about anyother breed without water.

They were bred in Africa, so they have evolved to be very tolerant dogs of heat.

a short hair dog...hairless chihuahua comes to mind

otherwise check out the dogs they already have there...be careful if you bring an expensive dog there...especially don't let it get loose near the squatter areas...you'll be calling your dog caldereta.

I would recommend something like a hairless chihuahua they tend to be very cold natured, but bring lots of sun screen for the little thing

It is not the tempeture in the Phils that is a problem. It is the humidity. A dogs "swamp cooler" (panting) loses it's efficency. So it is the care of a dog not the breed that needs to be considdered. The only breeds I would shy away from are the long haired giant breeds like the Newfounland or Saint.
