What can i do for my dog who i think might have been poisenedits the weekend,and all vets are closed2007-11-25 2:50:40

he is a 10 month old springer/spaniel.he won't eat,he started drinking a little water today.he has had vomiting and dirreah,and he just lays around.this all started yesterday morning.ever time i try to feed him or give him something to drank he just turnes his head like it is maing him sicker to look at it.please help if you can.i love my dog so much and it is breaking my heart to see him so pitiful.thanks.

If there is no emergency vet in your area, call the other vets. I am sure one of them will come to the clinic and treat your dog in case of an emergency and this sounds like it could be one. Hope the dog is okay.

He might possible have parvo also, vomiting and dirreah are normal for parvo, also they will be very sleepy and lathargic. keep him hydrated and get him to the vet ASAP. The sooner you get him to the vet the better off he will be. Best wishes :)

There must be a 24 hour vet somewhere. Look in the phonebook and go down the list of vets, some will have an emergency number to call. You need to find something pronto! I dotn want to scare you by making a guess at what it is, but if I am right you will want to get it checked imediately. There is always a vet opened somewhere.

There are animal emergency rooms out there. Try a search online to see if there is one near you. I know I also used to have an emergency number from my vet for when they are closed. Maybe try calling the office and see what the voicemail says? Sometimes the recording will tell you what to do in the case of an emergency. As a last resort, if you think the animal is in immediate danger and you can't find help elsewhere, I'd call 911. His health may be at risk, and it's important to get him some help.
