What can we do about the un-informed on the recall2007-11-25 2:50:49

I feel sorry for the pets whose owners don't have computers or access to the internet to check for updates on the recalls. I think anywhere that sells pet food ought to be forced to have an updated report on the pet foods in their windows. I know of some immigrants who had 7 dogs die who did not even know about the recall. They do not have a good command of the English language and try explaining wheat gluten to them!

The FDA did a random sampling of stores and they found 400 stores still had tainted food on the shelves!

Anyone have suggestions?

Bring it to the attention of the TV & radio stations in your area, most people even if they do not have computers, have TV and radio. Of course if they turn the TV off when the news comes on, that won't help.

Talk to the manager of your local grocery or pet store, perhaps you could print out a list of the tainted foods and ask them to post it on the shelves in the pet food aisles. A lot of these folks have pets also. While there may be a few that don't give a rat's rear, I think the majority would be just as concerned as we are.

Most large pet stores and major grocery stores are pulling the food off the shelves as it happens. I know all my news stations over announce it everytime there is a new food added to make sure everyone that has a tv or radio also knows.

You can help by checking the food at the little retail and discount stores and notifing the manager and if they don't pull it offer to pull it for them if he says no threaten to call the fda!!

Truthfully Im shocked the pets are eating it with the contamination. I think thisis so bad because its the canned and moist products verses the dry.
