What can you do with a dog if you dont want him to pee in the house, but youre gone from 7am till 22007-11-25 2:50:50

i have work during the day... what do i do with my dog? is it safe to let him run around the house? i don't have a backyard to put him in. (i live in apartments)

Are you people crazy? You want a dog to hold in his pee for 7 hours a day in a crate??

Why would you do that? I really dont understand the obsession of a crate. I can understand it as a place for the dog to sleep, but to keep him closed in it through the morning/day is just cruel. Think about it, he sleeps all night, wakes up, and is still locked up in a cage.I dont understand why people keep a DOG, in a cage for most of the day, and say, 'he enjoys it, he just sleeps'. Try locking yourself in a cage for 14+ hours in which u can just move and see how much you like it.

I'd let the guy run around the house through the day. I'm sure in the beginning he'll cause a mess, but you can train him so he doesnt. Give him the chance to be a dog and move around in the day though.he's not a bird!

Use dog pads or have someone take him for a walk in the afternoon.

Keep him in a crate while you're at work. That would be the safest place for him.

You need to use a dog crate or small cage. After a few weeks or months they will understand not to pee inside and not need the crate door to be closed. This is not cruel as long as you are doing it for less than 9 hours or so per day.

Have a relative or close friend come over and take him out while your at work...
